The old granny pine of Mar Lodge, Caingorm National Park

Even a limb of this tree is much much bigger than most Scots Pines we normally see.

I’m really interested in Ancient Trees – so I obviously think this is a great blog! I will be adding some “old” if not “ancient” trees to my own blog in the near future urbanextension.wordpress.com . It would be great to have an “add Feed” somewhere in the right hand column of your site, then I could keep up with your blog easier by adding it to my Google Home Page. If I try to add it as an RSS it only gives me the blog entries from October!

Hi Jane – yes they are fantastic and they are driving forwards all sorts of new thinking about trees and our environment. So it is all very exciting and they are such individuals! Like this ancient granny pine – what a tree!
