Jill and Ted find lungwort – a lichen, on a tree in a French wood near St Dizier in eastern France. This lichen is used as an indicator of important old growth woodland in the UK but this French wood is very clearly a working wood. Lichenologists will have to tell us what it means in terms of biodiversity.
